Virginia Lawton Harper and Sean Preston Breen were married at 7 p.m. Jan. 14, 2012 at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church in Charleston.

The Reverend Dr. James F. Norris III performed the ceremony. A reception followed at the Carolina Yacht Club.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Andrew Barnard Harper of Estill, SC, and Mrs. Rachael Kearse Best of Columbia, SC. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Harold Kearse of Allendale, SC, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Stiles Mikell Harper, Sr., of Estill, SC.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Breen of Bernardsville, NJ. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Joseph Breen of Wallingford, CT, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Preston Gillespie Siebert of Ossining, NY.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Olivia Ann Bryce Katz of New York City and Elizabeth Lawrence Parker of Greenwich, CT, were the maids of honor. Other attendants were Danielle Siebert Breen, of Bernardsville, NJ; Elizabeth Parker Best of Columbia, SC; Rachael Elizabeth Sharp, of Allendale, SC; Megan Lamson Baker and Gwynn Davidson Baker of Estill, SC; Kerry Christine Douglas of Stowe, VT; Aleka Young Selig of Columbia, SC; and Elizabeth Ann Williams of Bedford, NY. Soloist was Alice Kelly Gooding, of Columbia, SC.

Trevor Edward Breen of New York City was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen in the wedding party were Stiles Mikell Harper III, of Estill, SC; Nicholas James Boniakowski, Grant Robert Gillespie, and Peter Nevins McBride, all of Delbarton, NJ; Robert Edward Bortz III of New York City; Abbas Ali Hajizadeh of London, England; Sky Kurtz and Daniel Holden Saper of San Francisco, CA; and Daniel Llewellyn Jones Phillips of Dallas, TX.

The bride is a graduate of Middlebury College, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She is employed in mortgage sales at Goldman Sachs in New York City.

The groom is a graduate of Middlebury College, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Economics. He is employed by CCMP Capital Partners in New York City.

After a wedding trip, the couple will reside in New York City.
