When investigators arrived about 7 p.m., the 39-year-old victim and a witness said they were outside the home when a white sedan pulled up and a light-skinned black man with dreadlocks got out and began shooting, Sgt. Robin McIntosh said.
The victim was shot in the lower torso. An ambulance took him to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, where he remained Friday with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, McIntosh said.
Investigators have not determined a motive, and witnesses were unable to provide more details about the shooter.
