Pinewood is a perennial SCISAA power, and the Panthers won handily during the teams' first meeting.
"They're always a juggernaut in SCISAA," Eagles senior Taylor MacDonald said. "They always have the cream-of-the-crop talent."
But the Eagles gained confidence Tuesday from another win over rival Hilton Head Prep.
Hilton Head Christian received big performances from its secondary scorers and played tough defense. The Eagles know they face an uphill climb, but coach Kenny Conroy said the rematch with Pinewood Prep should be fun, noting that his team played well early during the first game with the Panthers before running out of gas.
"Looking forward to it," Conroy said.
Beaufort-Bluffton venue changes, again
The basketball games Saturday between Beaufort High School and Bluffton High School have been moved to Lady's Island Middle School.
The games were originally supposed to be played at Beaufort High, but conflicted with a previously scheduled event. The original backup plan was to play the games at Beaufort Middle School, but Lady's Island Middle offers more seating, Eagles athletics director Jerry Linn said.
Admission is $5. Game times remain unchanged. The girls game tips at 6 p.m. and the boys play at 7:30 p.m.
