I enjoyed reading the Dec. 24 story "Bookstore owners battle the chains." Our local bookstore owners provide a wonderful alternative to the big-box stores that abound in large cities.

My only complaint is that you failed to mention "BooksNBrew," the privately owned used bookstore and gourmet coffee shop in the Okatie Food Lion shopping center near Sun City Hilton Head. Jeff Williams opened BooksNBrew in May 2010. He offers more than 17,000 used books, wonderful coffee choices, homemade sweets and free WiFi. His store has become a meeting place for small discussion groups. He has had numerous book signings for local authors and sponsored a blood drive at Sun City. He is a retired Air Force officer, so you will find a large section of military history books in the store.
