Demolition work on the Stokes Honda Cars of Beaufort dealership on Robert Smalls Parkway is set to begin in January.
The plan calls for demolishing the dealership and building a larger one with an expanded showroom and parts-and-service-department, according to the company's website.
Demolition will begin Jan. 11 and operations will continue from the used-car center next door, a Facebook posting Friday by general manager Michael Coxwell stated. A company spokesman was unavailable for comment Friday.
The dealership is near the intersection of Robert Smalls Parkway and Trask Farm Road.
Stokes Honda Cars of Beaufort was founded in 1981 by Jerry Stokes, according to the company's website.

Panini's Cafe at 926 Bay St. in Beaufort will undergo renovations in January. The restaurant area will be closed from about Jan. 10 through the end of the month, according to the business' Facebook page. A grand reopening will is set for early February. The river deck and bar will remain open in the evenings during the renovation, and pizza will be for sale. Ashley's Hallmark at Cross Creek Shopping Center in Beaufort is scheduled to close within a week. The Bluffton and Hilton Head Island stores will remain open. The Beaufort store is having a half-off sale on much of its merchandise. Herban Marketplace, an organic food store at 1211 Newcastle St., Unit C, in Beaufort will hold a grand opening from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 20. The store had a soft opening at the beginning of December.
