LIFE IN MUSIC: Stevens came from a musical family in Savannah. He grew up with the soulful sounds of gospel music. He started playing piano and singing at age 7.
Spencer grew up in the shadow of Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. At the age of 5 she was singing, to the point that neighbors would call her mother to compliment the child but also ask her to keep it down.
Stevens returned to Savannah to care for his mother after a stint in Atlanta. Spencer arrived in 1987. The two got to know each other playing the local circuit; Spencer had worked with notable island musicians Bobby Ryder and Scott Morlock. They collaborated for a few gigs and found a good on-stage chemistry. They've traveled the country to perform, but for the past seven years, always make it back to The Jazz Corner for their Thursday gig.
