Thomas Heyward Academy 49, Colleton Prep 43: Jamie Malphrus and Caitlyn Cooler had double-doubles to help the Rebels remain unbeaten. Malphrus finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, and Cooler had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Kayla Canavan contributed nine points -- seven of which came in the fourth quarter -- to help Thomas Heyward (6-0). Ashlie Layman added 11 rebounds and five steals.

The Rebels won't be in action again until next weekend's RET Thomas Memorial Holiday Tournament hosted by Hilton Head Prep.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Thomas Heyward Academy 50, Colleton Prep 25: Senior Joe Laycock led the Rebels in the victory with 15 points. The Rebels (3-3) are off until next weekend's RET Thomas Memorial Holiday Tournament at Hilton Head Prep.

WRESTLING

Beaufort High 54, Wando 19: The Eagles won the first six matches of the dual -- five by pin -- en route to an easy win over the visitors. Beaufort High (2-0) added three more pins on the night.

Beaufort High travels to Dutch Fork's Silver Fox tournament this weekend.

Hilton Head High 66, Whale Branch 18: The Seahawks dominated on the scoreboard in a dual between nonregion foes.

"The final score was definitely not indicative of the fight that occurred in each match," said first-year Seahawks coach Keith Massey, who coached at Whale Branch last season.

Hilton Head High (1-1) wrestles in a 14-team tournament at Hillcrest on Saturday.
