Comedy turns on antics of a funny family

The Sun City Community Theater's production of "Arsenic and Old Lace" will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10-11 and at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12. All shows are in Magnolia Hall. Tickets are $23.

The play revolves around the Brewster family's antics. Abby Brewster is played by Maya White and her sister Martha is played by Anrose Perlstein. Teddy Brewster, a brother (played by Roscoe Sandlin), thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt and shouts "Charge!" throughout the play.

It appears that the lovely Brewster women have a way with wine and lonely older men. Something sinister is craftily hidden in the Brewsters' house and garden. Watch out bachelors - if a single woman offers you some elderberry wine, beware.

Mortimer Brewster, another brother (played by Ed Phelps), has just married Elaine Harper (played by Carol Wroblewski), and Mortimer has come to visit his siblings before their honeymoon. Other characters include Jonathan Brewster, played by Bob McCloskey.

The Magnolia Hall box office is open Mon., Wed., and Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. The box office hours during production week are Mon. through Sat. from 9-11 a.m. and one hour prior to each performance. Will Call tickets can be ordered by calling 843-645-2700.
