A 41-year-old Beaufort man was killed Wednesday in a two-car crash in Jasper County.

Bernard Anthony Washington and two other men died after the vehicle they were in was struck by a Ford pickup driven by 62-year-old Freddie Scott of Pineland, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. The accident occurred near the intersection of U.S. 321 and U.S. 601, about 15 miles north of Ridgeland.

Washington, who was not wearing a seat belt, was killed instantly, according to the Highway Patrol.

Also pronounced dead at the scene were two Garnett residents -- the driver of the vehicle Washington was in, William Warren, 27, and another passenger, Calvin Carroll Eady, 30.

Scott had minor injuries and was charged with felony DUI, patrol spokesman Lance Cpl. Judd Jones said.
