Prepare for a burst of color when entering the Hilton Head Island library over the next several months.
Les Bonnes Artistes, a group of Hilton Head artists, will be showing a collection of their work from Tuesday to Dec. 23 at the library's corridor gallery. "A Burst of Color" is a take off on the group's regular theme of playing off a particular color in its exhibits.
Each member of Les Bonnes Artistes comes from a different background in art, ranging from painting to mixed media, landscapes to abstract. The groups started more than three years ago as an informal gathering of well-known local artists. Members now meet monthly to discuss art and get feedback on their work.
Members include Joanna Chalson, Annie Coughlin, Doris Shay, Jo Dye, Evie Kowtko, Joyce Nagel, Bobsy Simes, Barbara Spencer, Faye Willis, Dorothy Steelman and Irene Williamson
Library hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 1 to 5 p.m. Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. The library is closed Sundays.
