Children's chorus to present 'Joseph'

September 24, 2011

The LowCountry Children's Chorus will celebrate its 10th anniversary with the production of "Joseph" at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 and at 3 and 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at The Baptist Church of Beaufort, 600 Charles St.

The group "is working to provide levity for the community with a great, light, affordable, well-done musical theater project," said Dr. Melanie Williams, minister of music at the church and founder and director of the chorus.

The idea spun off from the church's Vacation Bible School called "Egypt: Joseph's Journey from Prison to Palace."

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for senior citizens and children 12 and younger. They may be purchased at the church's Building B, 601 Charles St.; Antiques and Such at Beaufort Town Center; and Lighthouse Deli and Cafe on Lady's Island.
