Voter ID Card Day deadline is Thursday

Voters who do not have photo identification or transportation can request a ride to the Department of Motor Vehicles to comply with a new state law requiring identification cards at the polls.

Citizens 18 years of age or older who do not have a valid driver's license or identification card can call 1-855-782-8343 through Thursday to make an appointment for transportation Sept. 28.

A birth certificate, Social Security card, proof of residency and legal documentation for any name change are required to obtain an identification card.
