The girl scouts have treats to sell, but they're not cookies. So, you'll just have to settle for chocolate.

The Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina's Death by Chocolate will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Shipyard Plantation on Hilton Head Island.

The evening brings together chocolate lovers with those who make the sweet treats. In the past, the delicacies have ranged from chocolate fondue to ribs in a chocolate glaze.

Venders include, Wise Guys, Chocolate Canopy, Antonio's, Aqua Ocean Grille, Glitzy's by the Sea, The Perfect Bite, Pino Gelato, Cookies by Design, Tastefully Simple, Montana's, Fresh Market and Johnny D's.

The evening is more than just chocolate. Appetizers will balance out the sweet treats and champagne is poured to wash it all down. A silent auction will offer up restaurant gift cards, movie passes, massage discounts and more.

The third annual event was started to boost girl scout fundraising by adding a bit of variety to the already busy fall festival season.

"It's really a one-of-a-kind event on Hilton Head Island," said organizer Nancy Sulek.

The goal is to raise more than $10,000. Proceeds go to benefit Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina. Tickets are $35 and are available by calling 843-842-3444 or 1-800-868-9911.
