Leads sought in Levy murder

The Jasper County Sheriff's Office is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder of a Hardeeville man.

Deputies found John David Huberty, who was in his 20s, on the morning of July 24 in his home on Night Hawk Lane in the Levy area, Jasper County Sheriff Gregory B. Jenkins said. He had been shot once.

No suspect or motive for the shooting has materialized. Jasper County investigators asked SLED for help. The reward money was made available by a private donor, Jenkins said.
