Congratulations to Howard and Dolores Abshier of Sun City Hilton Head who are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on Sept. 6, 2011.

They were married on Sept. 6, 1941, in Chicago, Ill. They have two sons, Richard, (Pat) of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Kenneth (Darlene) of Sun City Hilton Head. They are the proud grandparents of Kristy, daughter of Richard and Pat.

Howard is a World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy.
