Dwayne and Debra Somers announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Brooke Somers of Hamptonville, N.C., to Evan Francis White of Hilton Head Island, the son of Frank and Janet White.

The wedding is planned for May 25, 2012, in Charleston, S.C.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of East Wilkes High School, Ronda, N.C., and will receive a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wingate University, N.C., in May, 2012.

The groom is a 2007 graduate of Hilton Head Island High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Wingate University, N.C., in May, 2011. He is employed by Global Door Controls in Charlotte, N.C.
