Get a beer, burger at hospice fundraiser

August 23, 2011

'Cheeseburgers in Paradise," a Jimmy Buffett-themed party to benefit Friends of Caroline Hospice, is from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Port Royal Landing Marina.

The evening includes burgers, beer and wine, and live music. Admission is $30 and includes burgers and drinks. Purchase tickets by Wednesday at Port Royal Landing Marina or Friends of Caroline Hospice office.

Friends of Caroline is a nonprofit United Way organization that has served Beaufort residents for more than 30 years. The Port Royal organization was the first hospice in the Beaufort area. The group does not accept money for its services; it relies solely on support from the community. Friends of Caroline coordinates with doctors, helps with pain management, sends home health aides and registered nurses, and offers caregiver and bereavement support groups.
