MISCELLANEOUS

  • Jasper County School District's back to school celebration open house is Sunday. Ridgeland and Hardeeville elementary schools will have visitations from 3-5 p.m. Ridgeland and Hardeeville middle and high schools will have visitations from 4-6 p.m. Also, Superintendent Dr. Vashti Washington will host a Hardeeville community meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Jacob Smart Performing Arts Center and a Ridgeland community meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Lloyd Newton Performing Arts Center.   • DoSomething.org and Staples are teaming up with ABC Family for the Staples for Students Do Something for kids in need national school supply drive. Beaufort-area teens are encouraged to collect school supplies and drop them off at the nearest Staples store through Sept. 17. Staples customers will be able to get involved by donating $1 or more at any Staples store. All school supplies and donations will be given locally to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry.   • BATTERY CREEK HIGH SCHOOL

  • Members of the class of 2011 can order a graduation video for $25. To order, call 843-522-2000. Details: Mrs. Grooms, 843-322-5580

  • New Student Orientation will be at 6 p.m. Thursday in the McVey Performing Arts Center. Parents/guardians and freshmen should plan to visit teachers in their classrooms following the presentation.

  • Freshman pictures will be taken from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria. Sophomore and junior pictures will be taken from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday. Once the photo has been taken each student should take his/her photo ticket to guidance to receive his/her schedule and locker assignment. Students should then report upstairs (D-Hall) to the bookroom for his/her books.

  • Seniors will receive their schedules and locker assignments from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today in the cafeteria. Once students have received their schedules, they should then report upstairs (D-Hall) to the book room for their books.

  • BEAUFORT COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

  • Beaufort County School District will require proof of residency for all students for the 2011-12 school year. Each student will be required to complete an enrollment packet that will be available at the school. Proof of residency for all students must be provided. Details: www.beaufort.k12.sc.us

  • ST. PETER CATHOLIC SCHOOL

  • The school office's summer hours will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. daily, or by appointment. Staff will provide tours to prospective families throughout the summer. Details: Mrs. Dee, 843-522-2163.

  • REUNIONS/ALUMNI

  • The Battery Creek and Beaufort high schools Class of 1981 will hold a combined 30-year reunion Sept. 1-4. Events include a meet-and-greet, tailgate party, family fun day and a formal event with dinner and dancing. Details: 843-252-9419, 843-521-0621

  • The Beaufort High School Class of 1958 Tidal Wave Breakfast Club meetings are at 9 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month at Golden Corral, 122 Robert Smalls Parkway. Details: 843-525-1822, 843-524-8903
