Ridgeland and Hardeeville elementary schools will have visitations from 3 to 5 p.m.

Stars, Staples join to supply students
DoSomething.org and Staples are teaming up with the stars from ABC Family for the Staples for Students Do Something for kids in need national school supply drive.
Beaufort-area teens are encouraged to collect school supplies and drop them off at the nearest Staples store through Sept. 17. Staples customers will be able to get involved by donating $1 or more at any Staples store.
All school supplies and donations will be given locally to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry.

Verizon Wireless stores will be accepting new school supplies to give students back-to-school essentials through Aug. 15. The items collected will help local organizations serving underprivileged and low-income youth throughout the Lowcountry. Customers and employees are encouraged to donate No. 2 pencils, magic markers, colored pencils, plastic rulers, spiral notebooks, crayons, glue sticks, white glue, dry erase markers, pocket folders, construction paper, pencil bags, erasers, index cards and children's scissors. The University of South Carolina's University Test Prep program and University of South Carolina Beaufort are teaming up to offer a SAT/ACT test prep program at the Hilton Head Gateway Campus in Bluffton. The course will be offered from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. today through Thursday. The program is intended to help rising ninth- through 12th-graders. Lunch, course materials (including the official SAT and ACT textbooks), workbooks and interactive online comprehensive review sessions in September will be provided. Registration is required. BATTERY CREEK HIGH SCHOOL
The SADD Club is collecting boxes of tissues for the upcoming start of school. Donations may be left in the front office with Mrs. Grooms through Saturday. Sophomore and junior pictures will be taken from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 9. Once the photo has been taken each student should take his/her photo ticket to guidance to receive his/her schedule and locker assignment. Students should then report upstairs (D-Hall) to the bookroom for his/her books. Seniors will receive their schedules and locker assignments from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 8 in the cafeteria.
