MISCELLANEOUS

  • DoSomething.org and Staples are teaming up with the stars from ABC Family for the Staples for Students Do Something for kids in need national school supply drive. Beaufort-area teens are encouraged to collect school supplies and drop them off at the nearest Staples store through Sept. 17. Staples customers will be able to get involved by donating $1 or more at any Staples store. All school supplies and donations will be given locally to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry.

    BATTERY CREEK HIGH SCHOOL

  • The SADD Club is collecting boxes of tissues for the upcoming start of school. Donations may be left in the front office with Mrs. Grooms through Aug. 6. SADD cookbooks are also available for $10 in the office.

  • Members of the class of 2011 can order a graduation video for $25. To order, call 843-522-2000. Details: Mrs. Grooms, 843-322-5580

  • Sports physicals will be from 9-11 a.m. July 30 in the Health Room of Robert Smalls Middle School. Cost is $10 cash. Forms are available in the front office.

  • New Student Orientation will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 11 in the McVey Performing Arts Center. Parents/guardians and freshmen should plan to visit teachers in their classrooms following the presentation.

  • Freshman pictures will be taken from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 11 in the cafeteria. Sophomore and junior pictures will be taken from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 9. Once the photo has been taken each student should take his/her photo ticket to guidance to receive his/her schedule and locker assignment. Students should then report upstairs (D-Hall) to the bookroom for his/her books.

  • BEAUFORT HIGH SCHOOL

  • Band Camp will be held from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. today through July 28. Students interested in participating in marching band for the 2011-12 season should attend. Details: Nathaniel Drake Jr., 843-252-6808

  • REUNIONS/ALUMNI

  • The Beaufort High School Class of 1991 will hold its 20th reunion July 29 and 30 in Beaufort. It includes a meet and greet, family cookout and "White Affair Social." The cost is $75 for singles and $115 for couples and families. Money orders or cashier's checks should be made payable to Beaufort High School Class of 1991 Reunion and sent to: P.O. Box 1991, Beaufort, SC 29901.
