Cindy Duryea of Beaufort recalled, "One of the rainiest Water Festivals ever was in 1975, the year Curt Copeland was Commodore. It absolutely poured the night of the Lowcountry Supper, and only the real die-hard festival fans showed up for that event at the parking lot by the band shell. This picture is of a soaked Ed Duryea (1978 Commodore) who came straight to the dinner from his job as Beaufort city manager. ... It's just one of my favorite Water Festival pictures from all our years of attending and being involved."
