  • The Athletics Booster Club will meet at 6 p.m. today in the cafeteria.

  • The School Improvement Council will meet May 12 in the media center.


  • Students in kindergarten, first and second grades will perform "Popeye, Pirates and Peter Pan," accompanied by the BES Drumming Seagulls, at 6 p.m. Thursday at the school.


  • The Beaufort High School Dance Ensemble will present its annual Spring Dance Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the Arts Center at Beaufort High School. The concert showcases student choreography projects and includes the Dance II, III and IV ensembles. Special recognition of senior dancers will be Friday. Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door.   • Several students earned certificates after taking the National Latin Exam. Cum laude certificates went to: Jackie Homyck, Kaile Vuyk, Margaret Edwards, Ross Baker, Robert Crumley and Megan Bridgers. William Gartlan earned a magna cum laude certificate.

  • The School Improvement Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month in the media center. The next meeting will be May 10.


  • Spring football practice begins this week.

  • Teacher Appreciation Week is this week.

  • New parent tours of the school will be Wednesday and May 24. Call the guidance department to schedule a tour.

  • PASS testing will be May 9-13.


  • Fathers and students of the school's chapter of All Pro Dad will hold their inaugural gathering Friday at a one-hour breakfast before school. All Pro Dad is the fatherhood program of the national nonprofit Family First. It includes nearly 60 NFL players, coaches and alumni who encourage men to be good fathers. Details:


  • The spring book fair will be today through Friday in the media center.

  • The Lego Club meets at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the art room.

  • Friday will be Crazy Hat Day for students who purchased a sunshine cutout for Relay For Life.

  • PASS testing will begin May 9 for students in grades three and four.

  • Read Across the USA reading logs are due May 17.

  • Box Tops and Campbell's soup labels are due May 17.

  • The D'Arts Alive spring performance will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. May 17 in the school cafeteria.

  • A strings performance will be May 20 at Beaufort High School.


  • This week is National Charter Schools Week. School tours will be offered daily, a viewing of "Waiting for Superman" will be at 5:30 p.m. today and a Chick-fil-A Spirit Night will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday.

  • One World Futbol matches will be this week.

  • Popcorn Friday is this Friday.

  • PASS testing will be May 9-20.

  • A field day is May 27.


  • Progress reports will be distributed this week.

  • Students in grades five and six will travel Thursday to Nemour's Wildlife Refuge for an outdoor exploration and excursion.

  • The third grade will host its annual Mother's Tea on Friday in the Walsh-Palmetto Room.

  • First Holy Communion will be during the 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday in the church. Confirmation will be at 7 p.m. May 12 in the church with Bishop Robert Guglielmone presiding. Details: Deacon Bill Lacombe, 843-522-9555


  • Parent University graduation will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday.


  • The Battery Creek High School Class of 2001 will hold its 10-year reunion May 27-29. Events include a Friday meet and greet and Saturday picnic. Cost is $40 for adults and free for children. Details: Shamere Wilson Young,; Tiffanne Mahomes, 843-812-6045

  • The Beaufort High School Class of 1991 will hold its 20th reunion July 29 and 30 in Beaufort. It includes a meet and greet, family cookout and "White Affair Social." The cost is $75 for singles and $115 for couples and families. Money orders or cashier's checks should be made payable to Beaufort High School Class of 1991 Reunion and sent to: P.O.
