Beaufort High 2, Academic Magnet 1 (OT): Christian Faale scored twice, including the game-winner in overtime, to lead the Eagles to the home win against the third-ranked team in Class 2-A.

Andrew Settlemire and Hector Garcia-Lopez each had an assist.

Nick Manos made five saves in goal for Beaufort High, which is No. 10 in Class 4-A.

The Eagles (6-1) travel to Stratford for a 7 p.m match tonight.


Hilton Head High 9, Corbin (Ky.) 1: Cameron Stoltz struck out 13 batters in six innings to lead the Seahawks to a home victory. The junior right-hander allowed only three hits and one earned run, which came on a solo home run. Mike Vaniska relieved Stoltz and struck out the side in the seventh.

Storm Grisham led the offense with three hits, including a double, and he scored two runs. Caleb Martin was 2 for 2 with double, an RBI and two runs.

Hilton Head High (10-5) hosts Corbin (1-5) in a rematch at 7 p.m. tonight.

Berkeley 13, Battery Creek 5 (5 inn.): The Dolphins dropped below .500 in region play with the mercy-rule loss on the road.

Thomas Smith took the loss on the mound. He lasted four innings, allowing 10 runs and 11 hits. He struck out four. Smith, Joe Fields, Aaron Salinas and C.J. Jenkins each collected one hit, and Fields drove in two runs.

The Dolphins (5-8 overall, 3-4 Region 7-AAA) host Corbin (Ky.) at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Whale Branch 18, Estill 1: Tyshawn Fields threw the Warriors' second no-hitter of the season, striking out seven in the complete-game effort.

Fields added two triples at the plate. Dee Delaney was 3 for 4 and twin brother Jay Delaney was 2 for 2 with a double. Jamel Brown also had two hits.

The Warriors play Allendale-Fairfax at home tonight, a battle for second place in Region 5-A.


Beaufort Academy 10, Lowcountry Prep 1: Eagles coach David Byrne praised his team's defense in the rout, beginning with goalie Charlotte Delfosse, who made three second-half saves on a windy afternoon.

Byrne added that sweeper Katie Kendwall and defensive back Callie Rhodin were strong in the win. Five different players scored for the Eagles (6-0-2), who visit Hilton Head Christian at 5:30 p.m. tonight.


Beaufort High 6, Fort Dorchester 2: Ariel Promislow threw a complete game to help the Eagles notch a road win in the region. She scattered eight hits and allowed two runs while striking out two.

Natalie Moore led the offense with two hits. Mark Cook added one hit and two RBIs, and Maddie Berry had a hit and an RBI.

The Eagles (9-5 overall, 2-1 Region 8-AAA) play at home against Summerville at 6 p.m. Wednesday.


Hilton Head Christian at Edisto (Sunday): The Eagles compiled a team score of 627 in the two-day, 22-team Lowcountry Classic over the weekend. Bryson Nimmer shot a 76 on Sunday and led the team with a two-day total of 148. J.D. Lehman (76-76-151), Chandler Vilcheck (77-81-158) and Kyle Weaver (80-90-170) rounded out the lineup.

The Eagles travel to Pinewood Prep today.
