CREW

Clemson Sprints: The Hilton Head Island crew team finished its season with three bronze medals Saturday at Clemson University's Lake Hartwell, and might have had more if the windy weather hadn't halted the meet.

Hilton Head's varsity boys 8+ team took third. Team members were: Ryan Bishop, Michael Richards, Christian Bruegger, Weston Mott, Ben Warner, Dillon Lysinger, Thomas Shevlin, Chase Theodore and Paige DeSantis (coxswain).

Also third was the varsity boys 4+ team of Bishop, Richards, Warner, Mott and DeSantis (coxswain).

Hilton Head's novice girls 8+ team took bronze as well. Team members were: Jamie Bradford, Athena Townsley, Megan Webster, Allison Newland, Crystal Garmon, Katherine Campbell, Sabina Sister, Chloe Strickland and Justin Oliveira (coxswain).

The Hilton Head Island varsity girls 8+ team took first place in its heat, but high winds then sunk two boats and the rest of the meet was canceled. The novice boys 4+ and novice girls lightweight 4+ events were also wiped out by the weather.

Members of the girls varsity 8+ team: Kelsey Phillips, Samantha Campbell, Jamie Bradford, Brianna Norwood, McKenzi Troyano, Karissa Gill, Leanna Lovely, Camila Soliz and Christina Gusella (coxswain).
