Photography Club of Beaufort names competition winners

The Photography Club of Beaufort recently announced the winners of the semi-annual Spring Competition held March 14. Photographers Jerry Griffin, Stuart Lathrop and Stephen Kmeth judged the event. Prints were judged using the criteria of superb technical quality, composition and interest.

NOVICE CATEGORY

  • First place: Ellen Corbett, "Colonnade"

  • Second place: Tom Valentino, "Sunset on Lake Murray"

  • Honorable mention: Rebecca Bass, "Icicles and Bicycles"; Barbara Kawczynski, "Grieving Rose"

    INTERMEDIATE CATEGORY

  • First place (tie): Bruce Hawkins, "Street Vendors"; Suzanne Wolf's, "Portrait in Natural Light"

  • Second place: Kate McClintic, "Vacancy"

  • Honorable mention: Barry Wright, "Ballerinas on Staircase"; Dick Golobic, "Lake Bagley, Mt. Baker, Washington"

    ADVANCED CATEGORY

  • First place: Karen M. Peluso, "September 11th Memorial"

  • Second place: Jim Williams, "Bennett's Point"

  • Honorable mention: Lamar Nix, "Egret in Mating Plumage"; Phyllis Kaupp-Seas, "Smiling at Me"
