Packet Thank You Letters for March 28

March 28, 2011

For your support

The Ella C. White Memorial Scholarship Fund is very appreciative of all sponsors, contributors and guests that supported its 2010 annual fundraising dinner in November.

We are especially grateful to the following sponsors whose contributions helped us to have a successful event: Hargray Communications, Palmetto Electric Cooperative, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Driessen, BankMeridian, Piggly Wiggly at Shelter Cove, Stiney's Funeral Home, Dr. Jonathan Francis, Marriott Vacation Club International, Companion Nurses & Nannies, The Jazz Corner and the Smokehouse. We extend our appreciation to businesses that donated items for our prize drawing and to all program participants. We also want to thank the Crowne Plaza Resort, which has hosted our event for the past 10 years, for its outstanding service.

We had a successful fundraising dinner, themed "Scholarly Endeavors." The Honorable Judge Brown, our keynote speaker, spoke of the knowledge, determination and commitment it takes to succeed in today's world. His own success story of rising from one of the toughest neighborhoods in South Central Los Angeles to become a nationally renowned judge is a testament to what one can achieve with education.

The Ella C. White Memorial Scholarship Fund, founded in 1972, awards scholarships to graduating seniors at Hilton Head Island High School and Bluffton High School. The fund is named in memory of a teacher who strongly influenced students in our community to pursue higher education and achieve their dreams. Since its inception, the scholarship fund has awarded more than 600 scholarships totaling more than $550,000.

For tournament help

On behalf of the clients, volunteers, staff and board of directors of Bluffton Self Help, I would like to thank the sponsors, volunteers and participants of the Hilton Head Island Celebrity Golf Tournament for their continued dedication in raising funds and awareness for children's charities within the community.

Bluffton Self Help gratefully acknowledges receipt of funding for our children's programs. With this support, we are able to assist school-age children with school supplies, school uniforms, and vision and hearing exams.

Thank you for this assistance, which will enable us to help the children of families who otherwise would be unable to afford such things that are considered imperative for a child to thrive in school. Please accept our sincere thanks for helping the area's children in need.
