WINE

Chandon Rose Sparkling Wine, California; $22

Rose sparkling wines and champagnes are great food wines. Chandon is known as one of the premiere sparkling wines of the world. It also has one of the most beautiful tasting centers and top-notch restaurants in Napa, Calif. When poured, beautiful aromas of raspberries and wild strawberries fill the glass along with a delicate note of vanilla. Once this wine hits the mouth, you'll taste layers of delicate red berry fruit, pears and a delicious creaminess. All of the flavors perfectly marry for a balanced and delicious tasting experience from first sip to the next bottle. It's terrific with grilled duck or quail, but also works anywhere you would want to use a light pinot noir or a fuller-bodied chardonnay.

SPIRIT

Sabroso Amaretto Almond Liqueur, United States; $9

If you are looking for a flavorful and affordable amaretto, this is the bottle for you. Aromas of buttery toasted almonds fill the glass and carry over to the mouth. There are flavors of light almonds and a sweet hint of toffee. A great feature of this amaretto was that it was not heavy or thick -- the flavors were light. It's perfect for mixing into cocktails or shots without breaking the bank.
