Tell us what you're giving up for Lent

Published: March 19, 2011

Lent is well under way, and we're curious how people in the Lowcountry are spending the 40 days and nights.

Christians (and even some non-Christians, too) often observe Lent and Jesus' fasting period by giving up a vice of their own. We want to know what you've given up for Lent. Are you abstaining from eating something -- maybe french fries or chocolate? Or maybe you've vowed to stop checking Facebook every hour. Tell us about your sacrifice. Why did you choose it? Has it been difficult? What do you plan to do Easter Sunday after Lent ends?

E-mail your submissions by April 6 to features@ islandpacket.com or features@beaufortgazette.com, or send them to Features Department, The Island Packet, P.O. Box 5727, Hilton Head Island, SC 29938. Be sure to include your name, where you're from and contact information.
