Laffitte, Springs

Mr. and Mrs. Norris Lightsey Laffitte of Beaufort announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Loyal Laffitte, to Saint Julien Lachicotte Springs II of Myrtle Beach.

Miss Laffitte is the granddaughter of Margaret Riley Oliphant of Georgetown, the late William Lucas Collins, the late Albert Drane Oliphant Jr., Dr. and Mrs. Moses Tucker Laffitte Jr. of Columbia, and the late Nell Lightsey Laffitte. The bride-elect graduated from Beaufort Academy and received a B.A. in English from Wofford College. Miss Laffitte is employed by PURE insurance in Charleston.

Mr. Springs is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julien Edson Springs of Myrtle Beach. He is the grandson of Mrs. Holmes Buck Springs and the late Dr. Springs, Ellen Bost Joiner and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Leon Joiner Jr., all of Myrtle Beach. A graduate of Myrtle Beach High School, the groom received a B.S in Biology from Wofford College and a Masters in Health Administration from The Medical University of South Carolina. He is currently attending the College of Medicine at The Medical University of South Carolina.

The wedding is planned for May 28.
