2009 Meridian Pinot Grigio, California; $9
This winery has been producing terrific wines at a value price for years. This vintage delivers the same quality yet again. It starts with a beautiful nose of orange blossoms and lemon zest, which flows into a crisp and clean tasting experience. Once the wine hits the mouth, lemon notes explode alongside tastes of tangerine and a crisp acidity. The finish has a terrific creaminess that surrounds the fruit notes and makes for a delicious tasting experience. This wine would pair well with any sauteed seafood or chicken dish, or a simple wine and vegetable dish over pasta.
Rain Organic Cucumber Lime Vodka; $25
Cucumber and lime might sound like an odd combination, but it is one you will love forever. This vodka is handmade at the Buffalo Trace Distillery with organic corn and is distilled seven times to ensure the smooth flavors you get in each sip. Aromas of crisp cucumber and lush lime fill the nose and start the taste buds working for that first sip. When this vodka hits the mouth it is magic. It's smooth and silky, with the sweetness of cucumbers balanced with a tart key lime flavor. This flavor lingers perfectly on the tongue with the cucumber notes hanging on the finish. This would be perfect with a splash of soda and light grilled meals with a fruit topping or Greek chicken dishes.
