Coleman, Porter

Katharine Lea Coleman and Tristan James Daniel Porter were married at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at St. Michael’s Church, Charleston.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Donald Coleman of Wilmington, N.C. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Alexander Raney and the late Mr. Raney of Wilmington and Mrs. William Chisolm Coleman and the late Mr. Coleman of Charleston.

The groom is the son of Ms. Beverley Ann Porter of Beaufort, and Mr. David George Porter of Charleston. He is the grandson of Mrs. Veronica Winifred Dean and the late Mr. Thomas Derek Dean of the U.K. and Mrs. Joan Anderson Porter and the late Mr. George Albert Porter of Seminole, Fla.

The bride was escorted by her father.

The best men were the groom’s father, David George Porter, and his brother, Dylan George Thomas Porter of Norfolk, Va.

Eleanor McNair Abernethy of Knoxville, Tenn. was the maid of honor and Elizabeth Westbrook Truluck of Charleston was matron of honor.

Music was provided by Edward Norman, organist, with Margaret Raney, cousin of the bride, on violin. The scripture was read by William Michael Harrison of the United Kingdom and Katherine Rippy Artemenko of Wilmington. Greeters were Kathryn Poyas Rhett and Anne Trabue Gray Watson of Charleston; Kathryn Thorsen Borland of Wilmington; and Sarah Morris Clapsadl of Raleigh. Mary McAngus Coleman, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.
