BLUFFTON BODYBUILDER HAS SUCCESSFUL YEAR ON STAGE

Bluffton resident Roland Allen picked up four trophies over the past year in amateur bodybuilding competitions around the Southeast, most recently earning a pair of third-place finishes at the Southern Isles Championships in Savannah in June.

Allen, a personal trainer at Breakthrough Fitness in Bluffton, was third in the Men's Open and Masters Over 40 events held at the Johnny Mercer Theatre. Allen, 46, also took third in the South Carolina State Championship's lightweight division in June. That followed a second-place finish at the Elite Muscle Classic in Greensboro, N.C., in November 2009.
