Blair, Lawrence

Melissa Blair and Richard Lawrence of Toronto, Canada were married at 4.30 p.m. on Oct. 9 at Rose Hill Plantation Mansion House.

The bride is the daughter of Lyle and Christina Blair of Toronto and Hilton Head Island.

The groom is the son of Janice Lawrence of Jupiter, Fla., and the late Jack Lawrence. Dr. Emmett Diggs officiated in the ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Lyle Blair.

The wedding and reception was beautifully coordinated by local wedding planner and friend Debbie Moore and catered by Lori Craven and held under the stairs on the grounds of Rose Hill where Melissa had trained at the equestrian center.

The breeze of perfect South Carolina weather made this a magical celebration for the guests who had traveled from international locations to celebrate with the couple. The amazing band of Reggie Deaz completed the entertainment for the evening.

The bride attended the Bishop Strachan School in Toronto and graduated from Hilton Head Preparatory School, she recieved a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wilfred Laurier Waterloo in Ontario. She has studied yoga around the world from India to California, Costa Rica to Massaachussets and now teaches in Toronto.

The groom graduated from Upper Canada College in Toronto and recieved his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Trinty College in Hartford, Conn., he was a Rookie of the Year and played on their tennis team. He is also a much accomplished musician. He is working in the finance business in Toronto where they will live after their honeymoon in Hawaii. Marc Clemie took the photographs of the wedding.
