Bluffton man faces Florida sexual battery charges

A 56-year-old Bluffton man was arrested Friday in Florida and charged with seven counts of sexual battery on a child.

Raymond Anthony Delgado was arrested by the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office after traveling to that county to meet an underage girl, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

Authorities say they were notified last month of numerous alleged sexual encounters between Delgado and the girl beginning in 2007. The age of the girl was not disclosed, though the release said she olderthan 12 but under 18.

Delgado remains in St. Johns County Jail on $7 million bond, according to that county's jail log.
