St. Andrew By-the-Sea United Methodist Church counselor Angie Elliott is forming a support group for women dealing with issues related to miscarriage, still birth and infertility.

The Women at the Well group will have its first meeting Tuesday. Elliott, a licensed counselor, will share her own experiences working with women who carry the grief of struggling to become a mother with members of the support group.

Elliott writes in a press release: "A number of thoughts race through the minds of those who have faced such a loss: 'No one understands what I am feeling. If I hear about another person being pregnant I am going to scream. I can't bear another baby shower invitation. Why does everyone have to ask how many kids I have? I feel like I have let my partner down. Why does everyone act like my loss is no big deal?'<2009>"

The spiritually based support group, which meets from 6 to 8 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month atthe church, will provide tools for grieving, coping, self care, identifying

issues and cicating needs. Counseling also is available by appointment. The confidential line is 843-341-3029.

The church is at 20 Pope Ave. on Hilton Head Island.
