For the second time in a week, the Beaufort Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a Boundary Street motel.

Police Chief Matt Clancy said that at about 4:20 a.m. Saturday, an armed, masked man walked into the Quality Inn on Boundary Street and demanded money from the clerk at the front desk.

The suspect, described as a tall black man, left with an undisclosed amount of cash, Clancy said. No injuries were reported.

Clancy said it was "very possible" that Saturday's robbery is linked to a similar robbery early Wednesday at the Sleep Inn Motel, also on Boundary Street.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator George Erdel at 843-322-7958 or the Beaufort County Dispatch Center at 843-524-2777.
