3 arrested in Hilton Head drug bust

July 30, 2010

Three Hilton Head Island residents were arrested on drug charges Thursday after a sting operation at an island apartment, according to a release from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The three residents -- Darien Lamar Johnson, 22; Earl Emirah White, 23; and Lashara Kineko Johnson, 29 -- each were charged with multiple counts of trafficking and possession of cocaine, marijuana and Ecstasy.

For the past month, members of the Beaufort-Jasper Multi-Agency Drug Task Force have been investigating Johnson, who was suspected of selling illegal drugs from an apartment at 400 William Hilton Parkway, the release said. Several times, investigators went there and purchased illegal drugs, including cocaine, marijuana and Ecstasy, according to the release.

That led to a search at about 8 p.m. Thursday, when task force members charged the three suspects and seized 55 grams of crack cocaine, 35 grams of powder cocaine, eight grams of marijuana and 11 tablets of ecstasy.

The three are being held without bond at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
