Bluffton police excel in domestic violence calls

At Citizens Opposed to Domestic Abuse, we work closely with a variety of law enforcement agencies in our four-county area and are frequently impressed by the professionalism exhibited by officers when dealing with potentially lethal domestic violence calls, assisting victims and readying cases for trial. Occasionally, however, individuals exceed their designated duties in their desire to serve justice. We believe such efforts should be recognized and applauded.

Members of the Bluffton Police Department, under the leadership of Chief David McAllister, deserve public recognition. They routinely offer sensitive support to victims of domestic violence, as well as apprehending perpetrators and effectively assisting in their prosecution. According to CODA's legal staff, "Their professionalism and willingness to help has made it a pleasure to work with them."

Within the department, we wish to give a special tribute to Sgt. Christian Gonzales, Lt. Brian Norberg and Officer Claudia Hebda. We are fortunate to have such a fine group of law enforcement officers in our community.
