Beaufort Memorial Hospital's outpatient Wound Care Center recently was recognized as a Center of Distinction by Diversified Clinical Services in recognition of its high patient satisfaction rates, healing results and clinical outcomes. For 12 consecutive months, the Wound Care Center has achieved success in treating and curing chronic or non-healing wounds and in providing care to more than 400 patients since its opening in September 2008. The center is led by director Terrence Mabry and medical director Dr. Gordon Krueger.

The Lowcountry is known for its high incidence of diabetes, which often causes chronic and non-healing wounds. Diversified Clinical Services is the world's largest wound care management company with more than 300 hospital partners delivering evidence-based care to patients with chronic wounds. A leader in wound care management, the Diversified Clinical Services serves as the hospital's partner in the management of the Wound Care Center.
