The Town of Hilton Head Island last week set up free wireless service throughout Coligny Beach Park, the first installment of what is expected to be several wireless stations on town-owned property, according to town operations manager Tom Fultz.
Fultz said he also hopes to start service at Compass Rose Park within 30 days. Town Council made free wireless service on the island one of its top priorities for the year during its goal-setting workshop in November.
Fultz hasn't seen anyone taking advantage of the service since it was installed last Thursday.
"Hopefully, with this nice weather, people will get out there and start to use it," he said.
