Drafts announced his decision Tuesday, just weeks after coaching the Dolphins to a school-record 24 wins and just one year after leading them on an unprecedented trip to the Class 3-A Lower State title game.
The longtime coach and administrator will continue in his role as athletics director at Battery Creek, a position he has held for 25 years.
Battery Creek now finds itself in search of a new boys and girls basketball coach. Wilbert Bryant, who led the girls program for the past four seasons, also stepped down from his position earlier this month.
