The 33-year-old told deputies he had eaten at a nearby restaurant and was walking home around 7:15 p.m. when a man on a beach cruiser bicycle pulled up alongside him and demanded money. The robber pulled a "very large" semi-automatic handgun out of the hooded sweatshirt he was wearing and pointed it in the man's face, the report said.
"He pointed the gun right at me and all I could see was this great, big gun sticking in my face," the man told deputies.
When he reached for his wallet, the robber snatched it out of his hand and rode off in the direction of the BI-LO supermarket, according to the report.
The robber, described as a 5-foot-10-inch-tall black man between the ages of 17 and 30 who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and gray pants,stole about $80 in cash, two debit cards and an identification card, according to the report.
