A school of fish can help people get the medical care they need this Christmas season.

Daufuskie Island artist Chase Allen has once again created about 300 metal fish ornaments as a fundraiser for Volunteers in Medicine, the Hilton Head Island clinic offering health care services to the medically under-served. Students from Daufuskie Elementary School hand decorated each 4-inch fish.

Allen is the proprietor of The Iron Fish Gallery and Studio on Daufuskie and The Iron Fish Gallery in Beaufort.

Each fish is available for a minimum $10 donation. The ornaments are available at Volunteers in Medicine, 15 Northridge Drive on Hilton Head Island, or by calling 843-689-6612.
