The president and his majority in Congress already have spent trillions of dollars we do not have. With so many people unemployed, I have to believe that tax revenues also are way down. Common sense tells me we are in a downward debt spiral.
In such a dire situation, Congress now wants to add another trillion or more to the national debt for universal health care we don't need. This has the potential to drown us in red ink for generations.
Senior citizens might be old, but we are not stupid. We see future financial disaster for America brought on by our own inept and irresponsible government.
Next year, as long as we can walk or be wheeled into the polls, we will try to rescue the nation at the ballot box. This could very well be our last chance to save the free country of our youth so we can pass it on to our children and grandchildren.
