It could be me, but growing up, I was taught manners, respect and common courtesy for others. Where along the line did that waver? I'm 22, and frankly, I'm disgusted with the way some people act. It's absurd that when we go to the movie theater, cell phones constantly go off. If there's something that important going on, you shouldn't be at a movie.
I recently was in a store on Hilton Head Island, and 18 people walked in front of me. Not one said excuse me or even acknowledged me. One lady actually stood in front of me, as if I weren't even there. It seems as if manners are a foreign custom to some people. I said "excuse me, please" to a lady and she just looked at me, didn't move, just stared at me as if I to say, "How dare you address me."
There have been an overwhelming number of experiences. Drivers don't let others in. People don't hold the doors open for others when entering a store or restaurant.
This world is chaotic and negative enough without our own community acting as we do. I don't care how much money you have, what you drive, how old you are. Learn some manners and have some respect and common courtesy for your fellow man.
