In that time, I had many friends step up and volunteer to help in any way they could. They taped signs in their car windows, pounded yard signs in strategic places and faithfully wore their campaign buttons wherever they went. They walked the neighborhoods and knocked on doors, handed out fliers and talked it up. Surprising campaign contributions began to come in.
This is how it has been done in this country for almost 250 years. It was amazing to see the support and how everyone worked together, and I was proud to be a part of it.
Thanks to all who helped make it happen.
Suddenly I have a seat at the table of community service. My plan is to hit the ground running and begin to contribute as much as I can to our great town. We have a lot to be proud of.
Congratulations to Oliver Brown for winning his re-election bid. And we are all better off because of the diligence and service Charlie Wetmore provided the past three years. Thank you, Charlie.
I believe voting is more a responsibility than a right, so another shout-out to the folks of Bluffton who made the effort to cast their ballots. It was a small election in a small town, but hey, it's our town. So come on Bluffton, rally up and get down to a Town Hall meeting. Admission is free, and we have much to do.
