Hilton Head High girls advance to state tennis final

Chasing its third consecutive Class 3-A state tennis championship, Hilton Head High claimed the Lower State title with Friday's 6-0 win against South Aiken in Sumter.

The Seahawks (16-1) will look to wrap up the trifecta in Sumter today against either Clinton or J.L. Mann.

No. 1 singles player Lindsey Burke, No. 2 Sabrina Drammis and No. 3 Jasmyn Howell lost just one game each en route to defeating their South Aiken opponents Friday. The Seahawks' Logan Danzell swept to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4, while Sydnee Wheeler battled for a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 5.

In doubles, Haley Thompson and Holli Selman won in straight sets.
