If you live In Jasper County, your shelter is the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission at 1352 Carters Mill Road in Ridgeland. On July 1, 2005, JARM assumed management of the animal shelter from Jasper County. Since then, the staff has focused on improvements aimed at increasing the quality of care for the cats and dogs. It has become known as a good, humane shelter.
Here is some important information:
• If your pet is lost, immediately call JARM at 843-726-7799.
• Call the shelter to find out what to do about a stray cat or dog that has come into your possession or bring it to us.
• If you want to adopt a cat or dog, visit the shelter. The selection is varied and precious. The cats and dogs are spayed or neutered and receive all age-appropriate shots. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday (except for a few holidays).
If you want to find a meaningful way to spend your extra hours, come talk to the staff about volunteer opportunities.
If you want to make a difference to the stray cats and dogs in Jasper County, donate money or goods to this organization, which will gratefully and judiciously use all donations directly to that end. To find out how to donate, go to www.JARMission.org You can e-mail the shelter at jarm1234@earthlink.net.
