The proposed Southside Park is right in the middle of the presentation planned for 6 p.m., Wednesday. The chairman of the plan's advisory committee said "this is one of (residents') final opportunities to make comments on the plan." He spoke correctly, although he was referring to the comprehensive plan as a whole.
This letter's intent is to alert the residents of this end of town (and everyone who has an interest in the city's future) that they need to attend this meeting on Wednesday, and they need to make themselves heard.
It would be helpful if the presentation includes the plan proposed by the Southside Park Committee, as well as a city-wide map noting the location of all parks, identified as to tot-lots, passive parks and active recreation areas.
Plan to be there. The meeting is in the new police building on the corner of Boundary and Palmetto streets, across from Piggly Wiggly. Enter on the side facing the new City Hall. Parking is available behind the building.
