Whitehead, Olson engaged

Robert A. and Jane L. Olson, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., announce the engagement of their son, Ryan A. Olson, to Maria A. Whitehead, both of Charleston, S.C. She is the daughter of Dr. Alva W. and Ida E. Whitehead, of Florence, S.C.

A November wedding is planned in Black Mountain, N.C.

The bride-elect received her undergraduate degree from Davidson, her master’s from the University of Georgia and her doctorate in Orinthology from Clemson University. She is a Project Director for The Nature Conservancy in Charleston and an adjunct professor at the College of Charleston.

The groom-elect received his undergraduate degree from the University of the South, Sewanee. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Charleston School of Law. He is Assistant Director of Land Protection at The Nature Conservancy.
